WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Brianne Wheeler stopped 55 shots for the Colby College women's hockey team in another tough one-goal loss to Williams College on Saturday.
The Mules fell 4-3 in overtime after losing 1-0 on Friday night to the Ephs.
Wheeler had 18 saves in the first period, 17 in each of the next two periods, and three in overtime before Williams' Gabrielle Vukasin scored about two minutes into the extra period.
The Mules had taken a 2-0 lead in the second period after the teams played to a scoreless first period draw. Annie Papadellis tallied at 10:09 on the power play from Jessica Howerton. On another power play, Lauren Guarente made it 2-0 from Samantha Slotnick at 17:08.
After Williams had tied the game at 2-2, Howerton put the Mules up 3-2 off a pass from Slotnick with just 2:48 left in regulation.
With another power play and an extra attacker for a 6-on-4, Williams tied the game with 47 seconds left on a goal by Kristen Tubbs.
