WATERVILLE, Maine --- Trinity College's Alexa Pujol and Colby College's Brianne Wheeler showed off their goalie skills for a second straight game after the Bantams scored a second period goal and made it stand up in a 1-0 victory in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's hockey Saturday at Alfond Rink.
After the Bantams (9-4-4 overall, 4-3-3 NESCAC) took a 2-1 win over Colby (6-12-0 overall, 2-10-0 NESCAC) on Friday night, Trinity's Emma Tani scored her sixth goal of the season at 5:22 of the second period in Saturday's victory.
Pujol stopped 23 shots, including 12 in the third period. She has a 1.34 goals against average and a .955 save percentage. Wheeler made 14 of her 30 saves in the scoreless opening period.
The Mules pulled Wheeler with 1:31 to play, but could not get the equalizer with the extra player.
The teams combined for just three penalties.
