WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College women's lacrosse team is in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the sixth year in a row and the seventh time in program history after earning a bid on Sunday night.
The Mules will play host to Lasell College in a first round game Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Bill Alfond Field. The Mules have hosted five opening round games and have won all the games by a total goal margin of 94-22.
Junior attackers Katharine Eddy and Lindsey McKenna have both come up with big games over the past few weeks. Eddy leads the Mules with 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points, while McKenna is second with 43 goals and four assists for 47 points. Eddy had two goals and three assists in the Middlebury game.
Trinity, the defending NCAA champions and the NESCAC champions after an 8-7 overtime win over Middlebury on Sunday, will take on Montclair State in an opening round game. Middlebury and Bowdoin also made the national tourney from the NESCAC. The Panthers will play host to Castleton State, while Bowdoin will entertain Bridgewater State. There are 32 teams in the tournament and 11 squads were given at-large bids.
