Women's Basketball—Program Overview

Basketball, one of the oldest varsity programs for women at Colby, competes in the highly competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Since its inception in 1968, women’s basketball has developed a rich tradition of success over its 41-year history. The Mules have won four ECAC Championships (1984, 1985, 1991, 2001). The program also has garnered 10 Colby-Bates-Bowdoin (CBB) titles and one co-championship since 1980. Current head coach Lori Gear McBride, who took over for the 2005-06 season, has helped the Mules earn NESCAC playoff spots in three of her four seasons.
