Julian gets 50th goal in women's hockey win (12/06/2008)
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Senior forward Becky Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) had three goals to reach 50 for her career and Stephanie Scarpato (Osterville, Mass.) had three assists as the Colby College women’s hockey team took a 4-1 win over rival Bowdoin College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday at Alfond Rink.

GORHAM, Maine --- Stephanie Scarpato scored the game-winning goal with 5:03 left in the third period and the Colby College women’s hockey team went on to a 3-1 victory over University of Southern Maine in non-conference play Tuesday night.

Brown, women's hockey blank Camels, 4-0 (11/22/2008)
NEW LONDON, Conn. --- Lacey Brown made 30 saves and earned her third career shutout as the Colby College women's hockey team won for the first time on the young season with a 4-0 victory over Connecticut College on Saturday.

 

Brown stopped 16 shots in the second period and finished the weekend with 72 saves in Colby's 1-1 start to the season.

 

Meryl Poulin, fresh off a fine season for the Colby field hockey team, got the game-winning goal at 17:37 of the first period off an assist from Amanda Comeau.

 

Laura Anning inched closer to 100 career points with a goal at 9:57 of the second period from Elissa Kurtz. Anning has 53 goals and 43 assists for 96 career points.

 

Becky Julian added an unassisted goal at 17:09 of the second period, while Stephanie Scarpato closed out the scoring in the third period off a pass from Dana Yerigan.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Liz Osgood scored 13:16 into overtime and Lacey Brown made 46 saves as the Colby College women's hockey team earned one of its biggest wins in program history with a 3-2 overtime win over top-seeded Middlebury College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference semifinal game Saturday.
