Brown, women's hockey blank Camels, 4-0 (11/22/2008)
NEW LONDON, Conn. --- Lacey Brown made 30 saves and earned her third career shutout as the Colby College women's hockey team won for the first time on the young season with a 4-0 victory over Connecticut College on Saturday.

 

Brown stopped 16 shots in the second period and finished the weekend with 72 saves in Colby's 1-1 start to the season.

 

Meryl Poulin, fresh off a fine season for the Colby field hockey team, got the game-winning goal at 17:37 of the first period off an assist from Amanda Comeau.

 

Laura Anning inched closer to 100 career points with a goal at 9:57 of the second period from Elissa Kurtz. Anning has 53 goals and 43 assists for 96 career points.

 

Becky Julian added an unassisted goal at 17:09 of the second period, while Stephanie Scarpato closed out the scoring in the third period off a pass from Dana Yerigan.

AMHERST, Mass. --- The rematch of last year’s New England Small College Athletic Conference title game went to Amherst College as the Jeffs posted a 4-1 win over Colby College in women’s hockey Friday night.

Women's hockey to open season with tough test (11/20/2008)

WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College women's hockey team returns a veterans squad for the 2008-09 season and will start the year with a big test in the opening game of the year.
