Women's Ice Hockey—Program Overview

The Colby women's ice hockey team is one of the oldest women's hockey programs in the nation and celebrated its 40th year as a program in the 2012-13 season. The team was a founding member of the ECAC Division I League. During the team's tenure as a Division I team, it posted back-to-back tournament appearances in 1995-96 and 1996-97. The team also placed two players on the inaugural Women's College Hockey All-American Team in 1998. Colby continues to play one of the toughest schedules in Division III hockey while competing in the always strong New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Mules set a team record for wins in a season in 2005-06 with 15 victories and then tied that record with 15 more wins in the 2007-08 season. Colby also made the NESCAC championship game for the first time in the 07-08 season.
