Women's Indoor Track—Program Overview

In its 29-year history the Colby women’s track and field team has experienced great success, producing 58 All-Americans and 107 NCAA national qualifiers. The team, whose roster typically numbers 35 to 55 members, competes in 21 events and has a coaching staff of seven led by Deb Aitken.

The 2007 indoor squad enjoyed a very successful season, placing seventh at the New England Division III Championships. In the 2007 outdoor season Colby's Anna King earned All-America honors by placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She broke her own school record with a time of 10:36.31 in taking second at the Open New England Championships.

The 2008 team will rely on returning letter winners and the largest group of first-year students in the history of the program. Talented first-years will compete in all 21 track and field events. Emphasis is put on team balance and the individual development of each team member. Each season, individual as well as team goals are made, and plans are established to ensure that all attainable goals are reached.
