2008 Season Outlook
The 2008 team will rely on a number of returning letter winners and the largest group of first-year students in the history of the program. Talented first-years will compete in all 21 track and field events and should increase Colby’s competitive edge.
Anna King earned All-America honors in the outdoor season last year by placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the national meet. She broke her own school record with a time of 10:36.31 in taking second at the Open New England Championships.
The outdoor team won a dual meet against Bates and the MIT Invitational, and it placed third at the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin. The team placed sixth at the NESCAC Championships and was 10th at the New England Division III Championships. Thirty-seven of Colby’s 48 team members had personal record performances.
Cassie Knight took second at the New England Division III meet in the steeplechase and was seventh in the Open New England meet. Brianna Kondrat also returns after taking seventh in the New England Division III meet in the discus.
