Late goals hurt women's soccer in loss

WATERVILLE, Maine --- After more than 80 minutes of scoreless play, Bowdoin College scored twice in the final 10 minutes to pull away for a 2-0 NESCAC women's soccer win over Colby College on Saturday.
 
Morgan Woodhouse (Portland, Maine) scored off a header with 9:25 left in the game to break the tie.
 
The Polar Bears move to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference, while the Mules fall to 5-3 and 2-3 in the league. Colby will play host to Wesleyan University on Sunday at 11 a.m.
 
Kiersten Turner (Gorham, Maine) picked up the assist on Woodhouse's goal off a cross.
 
Alexa Yurick (New York, N.Y.) added an insurance goal with 4:25 to play when she knocked in a shot from in front.
 
Bowdoin goalkeeper Bridget McCarthy (Hopkinton, Mass.) stopped five shots for the shutout. Emily Brook (Duxbury, Mass.) stopped six shots for the Mules.
