Women's soccer falls to 10th-ranked Middlebury

WATERVILLE, Maine --- In a battle of unbeatens, 10th-ranked Middlebury College scored second-half goals to pull away for a 3-0 win over Colby College on Saturday in NESCAC women's soccer.
 
The Mules (2-1 overall, 1-1 NESCAC) had started the season with wins against Connecticut College and University of New England.
 
Rachel Madding (Hillsborough, Calif.) scored the lone goal of the first half at 28:12 when she took a pass from Maddy Boston (Mill Valley, Calif.) and scored on a long blast.
 
Hannah Robinson (Davidson, N.C.) made it 2-0 at 65:36 of the contest off an assist from Julia Favorito (Winchester, Mass.). The Panthers finished the scoring when Ali Omsberg (Belgrade, Maine) tipped in a shot off a pass from the corner by Scarlett Kirk (San Francisco, Calif.).
 
Elizabeth Foody (Ottawa, Ontario) made one save to earn Middlebury's third shutout in three games. Jayde Bennett (Lynn, Mass.) played the first half for Colby and made two saves, while Emily Brook (Duxbury, Mass.) came on to start the second half and also stopped two shots.
