Women's tennis falls 5-4 to Wesleyan

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Sarah Wiener (Mequoin, Wis.) won at first singles and the Colby College women's tennis team won two of the three doubles matches, but Wesleyan University won four of the singles events to take a 5-4 win in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday.
 
Wiener took a tough 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (2) win against Grace Smith. Meanwhile, Mckenzie Love (Wenham, Mass.) moved to 9-3 in singles play with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at sixth singles for Colby (8-6 overall, 0-3 NESCAC).
 
Tess Perese (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Victoria Abel (Carlisle, Mass.) were winners for Colby at second doubles by a 9-8 (5) score. Love and Sally Holmes (Prairie Village, Kansas) had a win at third doubles.
