HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The first doubles team of Sarah Wiener and Tess Perese won a 9-8 match for the second straight day for the Colby College women's tennis team in Monday's 7-2 victory over Saint Benedict.
Wiener and Perese took a 7-3 victory in the tiebreaker, helping Colby win one of a number of close matches on the day. The Mules improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 on their spring trip to Hilton Head.
Wiener lost the first set at second singles, took a 6-2 win in the second set, and then won a 10-8 super tiebreaker to clinch the victory. Victoria Abel won a 10-8 tiebreaker in the first set on the way to a victory at third singles, Mckenzie Love won at the fourth spot, Sally Holmes need a second set tiebreaker win at five, and Holly Bogo took the sixth singles victory.
Bogo and Love joined forces for an 8-5 win at the third doubles spot.
