Women's tennis has winning streak snapped

HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- Colby College had its six-match winning streak snapped after Carleton College won two of the three doubles matches to earn a 5-4 win in non-conference women's tennis Friday.

The Mules fell to 8-2 overall and went 5-1 on their trip to Hilton Head.

Tess Perese and Sarah Wiener won at first doubles for the Mules, but Carleton led 2-1 after doubles play by taking the other matches.

Wiener and Holly Bogo won in super tiebreakers for Colby, with Wiener falling 7-6 in the second set before winning 10-5 in the super tiebreaker. Bogo lost her first set and roared back for a 6-4 win in the second set and a 10-3 margin in the tiebreaker.

Mckenzie Love had the other singles win for Colby at the fourth spot.
