NEW LONDON, Conn. --- Tess Perese and Victoria Abel won at first doubles and each won singles matches to lead the Colby College women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Connecticut College in NESCAC play Sunday.
The Mules finished the season at 11-8 overall and 2-6 in NESCAC play.
Abel had the match of the day at second singles, taking a 6-4 win in the opening set and then falling 6-0 in the second set. She and Jen Herbert went to a third-set tiebreaker and Abel pulled out a 7-5 victory to win 7-6.
Colby seniors Sally Holmes and Alex McAuliff each won their final singles matches. Holmes won at fourth singles in straight sets and McAuliff did the same at the sixth spot. Holly Bogo had the other singles win for the Mules.
Mckenzie Love and Holly Bogo combined to win at second doubles, while Holmes and McAuliff joined forces for an 8-1 win at the third spot.
