WATERVILLE, Maine --- Sarah Wiener (Mequon, Wis.) won at first singles and teamed with Kathryn Vergeyle (Orono, Minn.) for a victory at first doubles for the Colby College women's tennis team in an 8-1 win over Hamilton College on Saturday.
The Mules improved to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in NESCAC play, while Hamilton falls to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the league.
Tess Perese (Minneapolis, Minn.) took the second singles match and Vergeyle was a winner at three for the Mules, who won all the singles matches in straight sets. Sally Holmes (Prairie Village, Kansas) won at fourth singles, Mckenzie Love (Wenham, Mass.) moved to 11-4 in singles action with a victory at five, and Erica Talamo (Newton, Mass.) is 6-1 in singles play after winning at the sixth spot.
Holmes and Love were winners at the third doubles spot for Colby.
Carrie Uhlein (New Canaan, Conn.) and Mira Khanna (Palo Alto, Calif.) won the second doubles match for Hamilton.
