BRUNSWICK, Maine --- Brittany Reardon and Abbott Matthews were the only two Colby College women's indoor track and field athletes to compete in a meet at Bowdoin College on Saturday.

The Colby men and women start the indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Bowdoin Invitational. However, Reardon and Matthews made the trip Saturday and both came away with victories.

Reardon took first place by a wide margin in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.24, while Matthews was a winner in the weight throw (45-3.5). Reardon also took second place in the pole vault with a leap of 10-10.

Reardon beat runner-up Michele Kaufman (9.52) of Bowdoin in the five-woman race. Reardon and pole vault winner Erin Silva (12-2) of Bowdoin were the only two jumpers over 10 feet.

Matthews threw in a field of nine throwers and narrowly defeated Southern Maine's Jennifer Durham (45-1).
