NEW YORK, N.Y. --- Colby College's 800-meter relay team of Annabelle Hicks, Brittany Reardon, Brittney Bell, and Frances Onyilagha earned a championship in the event at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at The Armory.
The foursome had a school-record winning time of 1:44.50 in the 26-team field. Wheaton finished second with a 1:45.13. The women broke the school record by nearly two seconds.
Hicks will be among the favorites in the finals of the 60-meter dash on Saturday after winning her heat and taking second overall among sprinters for the women with a 7.79. Buffalo State's Sasha Henry was first at 7.77. Hicks is working hard to qualify for the NCAA meet in the event.
Reardon took 13th place in the women's pole vault with a 10-11.75 leap and also qualified for Saturday's championship final in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.99. Reardon also has a chance to qualify for the NCAA meet in the 60 hurdles.
The Colby team of Robyn St. Laurent, Courtney Laird, Morgan Lingar, and Kate Connolly placed 15th in the women's distance medley relay.
