First week laboratory

We ask that all students come to check out boots on Wednesday between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Hip boots will be assigned for those laboratories involving aquatic systems. If you have a class conflict, please come to see us to make other arrangments. See Kirsten Ness (x3072) to set up a time that is possible. Hip boots that you sign up for need to be picked up prior to lab on the days we have labs going to aquatic locations.

The first lab will be to Great Pond. We will be in canoes part of the time and on a platform boat the remainder of the time. You can choose whether or not you want to wear hip boots. The bottom of the canoe can get wet making it useful, but not necessary to have boots on.

Penobscot Mountain trip

Please save the date of Saturday, September 30th for our full day field trip. We will be climbing Penobscot Mountain in Acadia National Park and will observe changes in the flora as we go up in altitude. We will leave at 7 AM and return between 4 and 5 PM. Some breakfast food and a box lunch will be provided.
