Next, Ill talk about our development assessment.  We counted every home in the Threemile Pond watershed and noted buildings and other land uses that could affect nutrient loading in the lake.

Although the shoreline represents a small percentage of the watershed, it is the most densely developed.  203 of the 560 total homes in the watershed, are within 200 feet of the lake.

All homes export Phosphorus and nutrients and have an impact on the lake water quality, but the shoreline homes have disproportionate impact because of proximity to the lake and high home density.

In the second column on the slide behind me, there is a list of other development in TMP watershed that could increase nutrient loading:  5 Farms

 2 Gas Stations
 Car Wash
 Car Repair Garage
 Motel
 2 Sand and Gravel Pits

In our assessment of Development, we also surveyed buffer strips.
