Discuss some of the inputs and how to controll their impact
explain importance
Maintenance of roads is one of the most important factors in protecting a watershed from sedimentation and eutrophication.

Poorly maintained roads erode and runoff can harm the lake

road surface. Particular importance.  Camp roads, typically the roads closest to lakes, are primarily constructed out of sand and gravel, which includes particles of sediment. These particles can do great damage to a watershed when washed out of the road surface and carried into a lake or stream as storm water runs down the roadbed (KCSWCD 2000).

Sediment fills in lakes, decreases clarity, and increases phosphorus levels (see Background: Phosphorus). Also carries phosphorus

explain methods
assessed each road in the watershed, observing the road surface, crown, erosion, and slope.

Quantitative    measurements of length and width were taken to calculate total acreage of roads in the    watershed
