we were able to alter different land uses in order to make future
predictions for 2040.

One important change is the

Decrease in mature forest.
Kelly explained the importance of having a mature forest and the role it
plays in protecting the land from nutrient runoff

Mature forests will likely
decline as

More land is cleared for
development
|
|
The model predicts an
Increase in residential land
|
|
Most of the development
will have to occur away from the lake, as the shoreline is already well-developed
|
|
We also plan to see a Decrease
in cropland and pasture land
|
|
This could provide some
area for development without the need to clear more forested land
|
|
Increase in commercial and
municipal land
|
|
Will occur at a much slower
rate than the residential land increase as it is a much smaller percentage
of land in TMP watershed.
