Hardness:
	-measures the concentration of magnesium and calcium ions in the water column
	-high calcium levels can increase phosphorus sedimentation
	-however, TMP has very soft water, this is probably due to the bedrock composition
	-one problem with soft water is that fish and other organisms are more sensitive to toxins, pollution from a point soure could more greatly affect the orgs inn TMP than in other lakes
	-also more vulnerable to algal blooms
