Wetlands
Wetlands represent the transitional zone between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and are also a beneficial land use type for water quality.  Wetlands act as a filter for sediments and pollutants in runoff, and reduce nutrient input into the lake.  They can also act as nutrient sinks or sources, depending on seasonality.
Wetlands represent 2% of the watershed in 2002.
