Water Quality Impacts
¥Logging leaves exposed soil and debris that is easily eroded
¥Early successional vegetation does little to control runoff
¥3% of the watershed
Disturbed Forest (Cleared & Old Field)
The remaining land use types have potentially detrimental effects on the water quality of the lake.
Disturbed forest represents cleared land or early reverting land, and often results from clearing for logging or development purposes.  The clearing of forest leaves exposed soil and plant debris that is easily eroded to the lake, and early successional vegetation in old fields does little to stabilize the soil.
Disturbed forest represents 3% of the watershed in 2002.
