In residential and
commercial/municipal land, sloped lawns and impervious surfaces (such as
driveways, parking lots, and rooftops) promote runoff to the lake.This effect is increasingly severe
for development located near the lake shore.
Inadequate septic systems
at shoreline residences can also contribute nutrients to the lake.
In 2002, residential land
comprised 5% of the watershed, and commercial/municipal land represented 2%.
