Text Box: Number of Houses
Next, I will be talking about the Development survey that we conducted from the road and along the shoreline to determine the extent of residential development within the watershed.  All of the houses were counted and were assessed as either permanent or seasonal.
Total Houses: 283
5 Island
179 Shoreline
99 Non-shoreline
Tasker road has most houses: 38
Majority of houses are permanent.
Seasonality is important for many reasons.  As I mentioned it determines septic loading.  It also gives us insight into extent of buffer strip problems.  Togus is one of the most highly developed lakes in central Maine and the majority of houses are on the shoreline are in high-density clusters that are not in compliance with current zoning regulations.
