Next, I will be talking
about the Development survey that we conducted from the road and along the
shoreline to determine the extent of residential development within the
watershed. All of the houses
were counted and were assessed as either permanent or seasonal.

Majority of houses are

Seasonality is important for
many reasons. As I mentioned it
determines septic loading. It
also gives us insight into extent of buffer strip problems. Togus is one of the most highly
developed lakes in central Maine and the majority of houses are on the
shoreline are in high-density clusters that are not in compliance with
current zoning regulations.
