Summer Phosphorus Levels
This graph depicts the total phosphorus concentration in epicore samples collected by CEAT over the past summer.  From June to September, mean P concentration increased from 15 ppb to 34 ppb.  Phosphorus levels were consistently 15 ppb or higher, which explains the algal bloom in Togus Pond last summer.

Phosphorus increased in the water column throughout the summer.  The increase over the summer is probably a result of internal recycling and leakage of phosphorus from the epilimnion or depths of the lake, into the upper layers.
