We conducted a survey of
the watersheds roads in October.
Each road was rated qualitatively, by assessments of the crown, ditch
conditions, road surface conditions, and specific problems with diversions
and culverts. This map shows
each roads rating by color and the location of problem sites, also
distinguished by each color. As
you can see, the majority of poor roads, by our assesments, are located in
the Northwest corner of the watershed.
While most of the roads were rated as acceptable or good, the
majority of camp roads were only fair and have plenty of room for improvement. Culverts were the most common
problem sites, usually due to inadequecy. With some culverts clogged, or too small, or absent. This is a problem when water flows
over the road instead of through the culvert, causing erosion and flooding.
