take-over by the aquatic plants, especially invasives like Water Hyacinth,
which is not currently approved for introduction by DEP because of its
devastating effects in the southern U.S.
Usually most effective for
small lakes or ponds; would be most effective if used with Biomanipulation,
as it also provides cover for zooplankton
In order to prevent
take-over of native species, must harvest, which is labor intensive
