The purpose of our house count survey was to count the number of houses in the watershed and classify them as seasonal or year round.
We counted houses within 200 ft of the shore by boat during the buffer strip survey.  All other watershed houses were counted during the road survey.
We classified houses as season based on characteristics such as an open foundation, smaller size, no chimney, dirt driveway

We found there are 30.2 houses per shoreline mile which denser than at other nearby lakes such as Three Mile Pond and Webber Pond.
We determined that 63% of the houses in shoreline zone are seasonal.  Seasonal houses have less of a total impact than year round houses but have a concentrated impact on nutrient loading due to septic system use during the summer.
