There were 3 main
objectives in our development analysis.
Our first goal was to
understand MaineÕs regulations governing development in the shoreline
zone.We also looked at
additional town regulations and actual practices.
Our second goal was to
assess the impact of development on the water quality of China Lake
To do this, we conducted a buffer strip survey and
watershed house count
We also looked at the influence of septic systems and
commercial land use
Our final objective was to
propose remediation techniques to address the problems we found
