Long Pond is second to last
lake in Belgrade Lakes chain and is characterized by two separate water
basins, the North and South.
Long Pond North receives
much of its water from Great Pond to the East. From the North Basin, water
flows into the South basin and drains into Messalonskee Lake via Belgrade
stream before eventually entering the Kennebec river.
