Because of declining trends in DO and transparency, and the addition of gloeotrichia,
the lake has been placed on a list of impaired lakes by the Main Department of Environmental Protection

This requires DEP to perform a study of the lake within the next two years.
The information gathered through this study will aid in the production of their work.
