Flushing Rate
Flushing Rate = [(Inet Long Pond) + (Inet Input1) + (Inet Inputn)] / (Volume of Lake)
Flushing Rate = (1.324 x 108)/(3.492 x 107)
Flushing rate of Long Pond North is 3.79 flushes per year.
All of this information came together to determine the flushing rate of Long Pond.  This is the number of times the water in Long Pond drains and is replaced per year.  The net input of water to Long Pond was summed with the 7 net inputs by the other ponds.  This value was divided by the volume of Long Pond.
The flushing rate was determined to be 3.79 flushes per year (POINT).  The Pearl DEP site has the value listed at 3.5.  This may be attributed to a change in what was considered the direct watershed of Long Pond and an update in the precipitation information.
In comparison, Great Pond requires over 2 years for a complete flush of its lake volume (POINT).  Average Maine lakes flush about once annually.  The high flushing rate of Long Pond North is really good news.
