This equation solves for W (POINT), which represents the total phosphorus entering Long Pond North in kg/year.  In order to calculate W, export coefficients (Ec) were first derived (POINT).  These coefficients are subjective, so low, best, and high estimates were generated to provide confidence intervals for possible error resulting from natural fluctuations and estimation.
Each of these export coefficients was multiplied by their respective area of the land use (POINT).
This calculation in the first parentheses was performed separately on all 14 of the specific land-use types that have been assigned in the LPN watershed (POINT).

The amount of phosphorus released from bottom sediments is calculated with this term (POINT).
The # of capita years (POINT) considers the average number of residence occupants to be 2.54 and average duration of occupancy to be 95 days for seasonal residents and 355 days for yearly residents.  This is multiplied by the export coefficient for shoreline septic systems and non-shoreline septic systems (POINT).  The soil retention value for local soils is SR (POINT).
