Long pond has three types of value: Aesthetic, Economic, and Ecological. It�s a beautiful lake to enjoy a hike around, a swim in, or a boat trip over.
	It�s economic value is shown by the increasing property values of parcels as you approach the lake, as well as the commercial operations based around it.
	Ecologically, it�s part of a connected chain of lakes which can share nutrients and species and it�s outflow contributes to the Kennebec River. Similar problems affect all three values.
