Invasive plants

Are found in neighboring lakes
Invasive plants are introduced by boats, and due to competitive advantages over native flora, can dominate lake ecosystems. As shown in this picture, too many plants can really detract from boaters enjoyment of the lake. Neighboring lakes such as Messalonskee have areas dominated by variable leaf water milfoil, so the threat is nearby.
