To calculate the
phosphorus budget, we look at all of the different land uses in the
watershed. (15 Land Uses)
Each land use contributes
a certain amount of Phosphorus to the watershed every year. The rates we used
were from DEP and previous CEAT reports. For each land use, we used a low and
high Phosphorus loading rate as well as our best estimate for the Phosphorous
load given the unique characteristics of the Pattee Pond watershed.
Multiplying the rate of
Phosphorus loading by the area of each land use gives the total Phosphorus
input to the watershed from that land use.
