3. LAND USE ANALYSIS SUPERVISORS
Responsibilities:
*Responsibility for setting up, using, and training
people to use the digitizing and image analysis equipment.
Coordinate use and standardize techniques used by
members of the firm.
*Develop water and phosphorus budgets for the watershed.
Work with the Development Survey Supervisors in determining
the phosphorus loading estimates for the watershed.
Qualifications:
*Willing to become intimately familiar with the use
of the digitizing and image analysis equipment. Attention
to detail, good memory, and patience to teach others
how to use the relevant equipment.
4. GIS SUPERVISORS
Responsibilities:
*Ultimate responsibility for coordinating use of our
GIS system. These people will be the primary GIS technicians
for the class and will also help others with projects
that need information obtained through GIS.
Qualifications:
*Attention to detail, good memory, and patience to teach
others how to use the GIS system.
5. CHEMICAL ANALYSIS SUPERVISORS FOR PHOSPHORUS
Responsibilities:
*Ultimate responsibility for coordinating phosphorus
analysis of water samples. The Supervisors for Phosphorus
Analysis train others to use the relevant laboratory
equipment accurately and help troubleshoot problems
that develop
Qualifications:
*Willingness to learn chemical analysis procedures and
a good background in chemistry. Good laboratory technique(s)
required.
6. CHEMICAL ANALYSIS SUPERVISORS FOR GENERAL TESTS
Responsibilities:
*Ultimate responsibility for coordinating nonphosphorus
analysis of water samples. The Supervisors for General
Analysis train others to use the relevant laboratory
equipment and help troubleshoot problems that develop.
Qualifications:
*Willingness to learn chemical analysis procedures and
a good background in chemistry. Good laboratory technique(s)
required.
7. DATABASE MANAGER
Responsibilities:
*Coordinates the collation and storage of the firms
data. Prepares field data sheets in appropriate format.
Maintains a hard copy of all data gathered from water
quality and land use investigations. Constructs and
maintains a computer listing of all data. Controls
access to the database for the firm.
*Organizes the water samples so that they are easily
accessed for analysis at the proper time. Makes sure
that all samples taken have the proper analysis done
within the specified time limits.
Qualifications:
*Attention to detail, good memory, and patience to teach
others proper protocols. Good organizational and computer
skills are also important.
8. DEVELOPMENT SURVEY SUPERVISORS
Responsibilities:
*Ultimate responsibility for coordinating septic system
study of watershed and for obtaining relevant information
from town officials. Responsible for calculating the
septic loading estimates for the watershed.
*Provide the road survey analysis and the counts for
shoreline and watershed houses.
*Provide demographic estimates for projections made
using the phosphorus budget model.
Qualifications:
*Good organizational skills. Comfortable meeting new
people and making telephone calls to resource people.
