DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY
The Department of Biology urges its majors to think carefully about their educational goals for their undergraduate years. When those goals have been defined, majors frequently find that some of the goals can best be achieved through off-campus study. If off-campus study would be helpful in reaching those goals, we urge students to consult with their adviser and departmental OCS liaison or other members of the department about:
All classes to be credited toward the major must be pre-approved by the chair of the department. Approved classes taken off-campus can count toward fulfilling area requirements for the major.
Majors may transfer toward their major requirements a maximum of 8 credit hours for a semester of off-campus study, or 12 credit hours in total from off-campus programs, including credits transferred from other institutions.
The department recommends that majors consider the following programs and universities to meet their academic goals for off-campus study:
