The world of music is opening up like never before. A news release from Boston Symphony Orchestra Archives has just announced that the Boston Symphony Orchestra Archives has recently completed a grant-funded project that provides digital access to important historical resources that document the history of the Tanglewood Music Center. Founded in 1940 by Serge Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Symphony has featured world premiere performances by the most prominent contemporary composers of our day. The project was funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the Grammy Foundation, and the Sloan Foundation. 781 Tanglewood Music Center concerts, including Festival of Contemporary Music concerts, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra concerts, and other events, are now available in open streaming audio files.
