Endowed Faculty Development Grant Fund - $50,000
Colby is committed to ensuring that its curriculum is both current and innovative. A faculty development grant assists faculty members with the creation of new courses of study or new pedagogy or with the significant enhancement of existing courses.
Endowed January Program Fund - $50,000
This fund assists the College in retaining experts from outside the College, whose areas of knowledge and experience complement those of the faculty, to teach courses during Jan Plan that broaden significantly Colby's academic offerings. The fund allows continued development and support of non-traditional courses that enrich the undergraduate liberal arts curriculum.
Endowed Student Research Fund - $100,000
Student research fellowships, assistantships, and internships provide Colby students with opportunities to work closely with Colby faculty, both during the summer and during the academic year, on research and scholarship within a faculty member's and a student's area of study.
Endowed Faculty Research Fellowship - $125,000
Colby expects all faculty members to pursue active research during the summer months and during sabbatical leaves. This fellowship provides supplementary funding to professors with special research needs such as travel, book or data acquisitions, software, or equipment. The fellowship also may be used to help faculty travel to present their research at conferences or colloquia.
