There’s always something going on at Colby. We plan hundreds of activities and events for students throughout the academic year, including opportunities for community involvement, cultural celebrations, and recreational adventures. Students welcome each season with Colby traditions like apple picking and pumpkin carving, broomball and skating on Johnson Pond, and cheering on the woodsmen's team during the annual spring Mud Meet.

Ever heard of broomball? Want to try quilting, pottery, or a cappella? Interested in writing for the student newspaper, debating politics, or hiking the Grand Canyon? Colby has more than 100 student clubs, numerous club sports, and a ton of other things to engage your body and brain.

Waterville’s restaurants, retail stores, and coffee shops are only a few minutes drive from campus (and there’s Colby’s shuttle, “the Jitney”). Students are always planning trips to the mountains or ocean and to Portland for music, arts, and food culture.
