Think that Colby is desolate and boring? Think again. Mayflower Hill has so much going on you’ll have trouble choosing among several events on any given night. And just because winter blankets the campus in snow for a handful of months doesn’t mean we hibernate. Instead, students embrace the outdoors in every season with events that range from apple picking and pumpkin carving to winter carnival and skating on Johnson Pond to campus golf and the woodsmen’s team’s spring Mud Meet. Need more? Ever heard of broomball? Want to try quilting, pottery, or a cappella? Interested in writing for the student newspaper, debating politics, or hiking the Grand Canyon? Colby has more than 100 student clubs, numerous club sports, and a ton of other things to engage your body and brain. Regional Adventures
To supplement campus events, Waterville’s restaurants, retail stores, and coffee shops are only a few minutes drive from campus (and there’s Colby’s shuttle, “the Jitney”). And students are always planning trips to the mountains or ocean for sightseeing, skiing, or surfing, and to Portland for music, arts, and food culture. |
