COC Meeting Minutes

FAILURE ☹ : No one bike with Lauren. She rode her bike alone instead of running with me.

SUCCESS ☺ : Sweet trail run, except that Lauren was pegged with a full Poland Springs water bottle. She has a welt, didn’t cry, and will wear shoulder pads and/or armor for all remaining runs. Let’s all work to improve future relationships between Colby students and angry Watervillians.

FAILURE ☹ : Bouldering.

SUCCESS ☺ : Kayaking! There is no excuse for forgetting to set your alarm, but Eric still had fun on the river with Will.

SUCCESS ☺ / FAILURE ☹ : Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race! Eric wussied out and wouldn’t race with Sarah. Sarah had fun watching the race but was sad that Eric wouldn’t race with her. The BOC can’t paddle to save their lives. Bottom line: We should have been there to beat them. Better luck next year.

ROLL CLINIC Tuesday night at 7pm. Sign up online, chill in boats. No goggles allowed.

ORIENTEERING this Saturday. Martin is still looking for a co-leader. The race is in Medfield, MA. Worried? Martin will teach you everything you need to know. It’s $25 for the day, contact Martin (mtengler) with any questions. Some say IT’S JUST FOR FUN, but Martin is racing to win.

HIKE CADILLAC (WEATHER PERMITTING) with Sarah and Judy. Leave Saturday (May 2), camp in Acadia, get up at 3am on Sunday (May 3), and hike (not drive) Cadillac to see the sun rise before anyone else in North America. You can co-lead, just send Sarah (sstevens) an email.

ORCHESTRA (and choir) CONCERT! Get outside by going inside!! May 2 and 3 at 7:30pm in the chapel.

THE COC WILL CARE on Saturday, April 25. Do TRAIL WORK on the Winslow Trails, the Messalonskee Stream Trails or the trails around Goodwill Hinkley. WARNING: Don’t go in the museum at Goodwill Hinkley unless you are willing to mingle with taxidermic animals. STAY TUNED for an email from Judy!! She and Byron will sign you up!!! BIKE TO THE CABIN ON FRIDAY with Lauren!! Have fun, JUMP IN THE LAKE! Sign up online, and meet at the offices (bike and helmet in hand) at 3pm.

VOTE VOTE VOTE!!! COC CO-PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS are next weekend. Elections for all other positions will be held the weekend after next. All statements of candidacy should be emailed to Jake the Clown (jwmarty) by this WEDNESDAY at NOON. Clown, you will then compile the statements and email them to the entire club. ANYONE CAN RUN FOR CO-PRESIDENT!! You don’t have to be a senior, and the co-presidents don’t have to be a boy-girl duo. YOU MUST BE AT NEXT WEEK’S MEETING TO VOTE (unless you are abroad, in which case you can email your vote to Eric (emfoster) on Sunday).

THE PHOTO CONTEST will be on display this WEDNESDAY thru FRIDAY in PULVER. Make sure you VOTE!!! Voting instructions will be posted at the booth.

MAPLE SYRUP CLEAN UP this week. Stay tuned for an email from Sarah. It will likely be a day full of warm, fuzzy feelings.
