Trip Description:
Alec and Kody will be leading a rock climbing trip in Acadia. We'll be leaving Friday evening after dinner at Colby and then camping with all of the other Acadia trips on Friday night. On Saturday morning we'll get an early start to walk down to the cliffs and get some climbing in before returning to Colby on Saturday afternoon.
We're planning to go to the Otter Cliffs, which rise out of the ocean on the east side of Mt. Desert Island. There are climbs for all abilities; no experience is necessary but you should be comfortable with heights and climbing vertical rock faces. Climbing specific gear will be supplied by the Colby Mountaineering Club, but you should have shoes/boots to walk in as well as general camping gear and outdoor clothing. Of course gear can be rented from the outing club as well. |
