The Colby Equestrian Club is an active campus organization. The Team is a recognized club sport a Colby, is active in the IHSA Hunt Seat division and participates in several shows in the fall and spring sports seasons. In addition to showing, all team members must participate in one group lesson each week. Participation in the club section has no specific lesson requirement. The club meets for dinner weekly. Equestrian welcomes riders with little or no experience as well as seasoned competitors.
Club and team lessons take place at Pendragon Equestrian Center in Skowhegan, ME. Lessons take place five days a week and are taught by barn owner and team coach, Sandy Porter-Bean. Colby competes in Zone 1, Region 2 against Bates, Bowdoin, Colby-Sawyer, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Mount Ida, University of Maine, University of New Hampshire and University of Vermont. The team attended 5 shows in the fall 2008 season and plans to continue showing the spring. Individual results can be found on the team news page.
