General Description
Although many resources are now available online, a wide variety of careers may be researched in the Career Resource Library. It contains books with information about career fields and job search techniques, directories of employers, annual reports, periodicals, and videos. We also have relocation and job search information from a large number of cities around the country. Information on career opportunities, summer opportunities, educational opportunities, fellowships, special opportunities, recruiting, and consortia can be found in our files. Internship opportunity information is also available in the library.

Libraries can be confusing places. Please ask for help if you are not finding what you came for -- whether on-line or on paper!

Suggested Resources
CareerSearch is an on-line library of resources to which our office subscribes.You will find in it searchable directories of employers in a variety of career fields, including advertising, media, academia, consulting, finance, healthcare, insurance, investing, museums, publishing, research centers, sports, technology, and venture capital. CareerSearch is available only from on-campus computers.

2-3 computers and a printer are available for students to use for career-related work during library hours. We also make a typewriter (technological dinosaurs though they are!) available for typing application forms.

Students are encouraged to utilize the many resources in the Career Services Library. You can also access listings of many of our holdings from Miller Library on the on-line catalog at your convenience. We would appreciate sincerely your cooperation in the use and further development of our library. Please ask for assistance if you cannot find something. If you are aware of good resources that we do not have, please suggest them to us.

Unfortunately, Library resources are to be used on-site. They may not be borrowed, so that everyone can use them. Please plan on bringing your Colby ID to use in copying information you need to keep.

The Career Resource Library is located on the first floor of the Eustis Building. Hours vary during the year. We look forward to seeing you in our library!
