Services and Programs
Career Services offers a variety of services and programs designed to assist students with determining a career path, finding jobs (summer and post-graduation), and applying to graduate school. 

Every student is invited to make an appointment with a staff member to discuss their individual plans. We will help you identify where you are in the career planning and job search process and try to identify helpful resources to keep you moving forward in your search.

Drop-in hours are offered each week so that students may get on-the-spot help with resumes, cover letters, and quick questions. These hours are staffed by Career Services staff members. If drop-in hours don't fit into your schedule, ask to make an appointment for a time that works for you. The Career Cafe on Friday afternoons in the Career Services Library is a great time to stop by with your questions.

Graduate school advising is also available. We can help you assess your needs, identify resources, fill out applications (we have typewriters!), and evaluate essays. Call for an appointment with any staff member. Pre-med, pre-law, and pre-business school advising is offered by Cynthia Parker, Director of Career Services.

The eRecruiting calendar is a place you should check frequently helpful and informational events as well as interview opportunities.for workshops, information sessions, alumni career panels, and other events offered throughout the year.  Be sure to read the e-mail message you receive from Career Services weekly throughout the year for late-breaking news and dates/deadlines.

Weekly e-mails ("Career Services This Week") alert you to events and deadlines, as well as give you sample recent job listings.

Workshops
Check the eRecruiting calendar for dates, times, and locations of Programs and Workshops
Examples of programs include information sessions given by employers and alumni, self-assessment workshops, summer job workshops, interviewing skills workshops, meetings for Pre-Law and Pre-Med students, Job Shadow Day (in October), alumni career panels, and alumni networking sessions.

Job and Graduate School Fairs
Colby participates in a number of collaborative efforts with other colleges in Maine, New England, and across the country. These relationships allow us to offer students a number of opportunities to participate in job fairs and graduate school fairs. Keep an eye on your e-mail or the eRecruiting calendar for these opportunities.
